LOVE THAT GROWS WITHIN
A collection of devotional series for women
BY LUCIA BRACHO
He roars within me
He is the author and finisher of our faith (Revelations 4:3)
As we grow in his love and know him more in our everyday walk, we ought to maintain our connection with our heavenly father. He is eager to bombard us with his ideas, his thoughts, his opinion and his truth. He is such a gentleman that he would not speak unless you welcome him to do so. He says in Revelations 3:20 “Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.”
Simply put, he waits for us and gives us the opportunity of choosing to listen to his voice; his sweet, gentle, captivating voice.
Better than “Anytime Fitness”
Are you aware that you carry Jesus inside you and you can reach out to him 24/7? It’s like going to the Anytime Fitness rooms with the only difference that here you are truly gaining in life! I mean, for real ladies! What better friend to have anytime, by your side, than the Father of all existence and creation? Dropping the mic now!
Pastor Andrew Malek from City Church Chicago shared in his latest sermon that, “our walk with God is not a one-time commitment; it’s not a one-time contract.” I say it’s better than a contract. It’s an intentional-daily invitation-relationship type of thing. Hence, I want you to know that, as princess warriors, we carry his voice wherever he positions us – and we must be prepared to defend our position with his truth! (Ephesians 6:14)
Reaffirmed identity
Part of defending your position is by knowing who you are in Jesus! You have probably heard these lines on repeat in sermons, conferences, and songs: “I am who you say I am. I’m a child of God yes I am…” from the latest super album There Is More from Hillsong Worship. It is my favorite example. But are we really taking ownership in these words? Are we truly believing what we are articulating or are we in a “fake it till you make it” mindset?
You are a daughter of the highest King; a Princess Warrior so act like one!
Believe what he says about you, the promises he has given you, the truths that he unfolds before you. Take hold of it, cling to his love; the one and only worthy to cling to.
Stay connected
As is with any relationship’s foundation, communication is crucial to building trust, respect, and nurturing love. Once we are reaffirmed in his identity, the next step is to strengthen the bond between father and daughter; it must remain as tightly connected as any umbilical cord. Even when we don’t wake up in a happy mood, get the words out of your mouth. I’ve been there and done that, and it’s amazing how an encounter with Jesus changes everything. We must keep our communication flowing.
Confidently Pray
Finally, we need to dare to go big in prayer. Prayers are a life changing factor with the power to alter our situation, turning our worries to heaven, and entrusting the Almighty one to take authority over the situation. (Philippians 4:6-7) As a matter of fact, Jesus teaches us in the bible how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13). Moreover, we need the faith to believe that even when we don’t see him, he is at work, he listens to us, delights in us, and rejoices with us.
Are our eyes fixed on the eternal or are we adopting Thomas’ behavior and not believing till we see it? Jesus tells us in the Bible that if only we had faith as small as a mustard seed, mountains would move, and nothing would be impossible. (Matthew 17:20). Stretch your faith and believe with God that anything can happen!
Key points
Before God positions you into your purpose you need to:
- Know whose you are. ”You are chosen people, you are a Royal priesthood” (2 Peter 2:9)
- Stand still and hold your position with the belt of truth. (Ephesians 6:14)
- Have unshakable faith. It only takes the size of a mustard seed. (Matthew 17:20)
Prayer of the week
Lord, meet me where I am, I want to be aligned with the path you have set ahead for me. I want to secure my confidence in you and cultivate my relationship with you. Have your way. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
