We hope you are celebrating this week honoring and giving love to your HERO! And talking about heroes, Here is Tukiya’s tribute to her Super Dad!

At a young age, there were a few things my father would remind my two siblings and me to hold on to. Three of them being God, our family (each other), and our education. My father would always set a clear vision for our family and guide us to the best of his ability. He taught me to always push myself in every aspect of my life and gave me the perspective of never becoming complacent. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

He valued education – ” Education is one thing nobody can ever take away from you.” Words I held on to as I traveled over 8,000 miles to get my tertiary education. 10 years ago, I couldn’t see a life past living in South Africa/eSwatini, but my father saw more for not only me but for each of his 3 children and pushed me to apply to Art school in the U.S. In his eyes, the ceiling I had placed on my life was way too low. He always saw more for his little girl.

Today I’m living out God’s best life He planned for me and I wouldn’t be here if my father hadn’t challenged me to believe for more for my life, beyond what I thought I deserved. How beautiful is it that our Heavenly father has plans for our lives that far exceed anything we can ever dream of?
